In the series, the Mandalorian meets up with a group of Anzellans and he gets to visit with them again in the Mandalorian and Grogu movie. Anzellans are very small mechanics (shorter than Grogu) who are experts at all things electo-mechanical. They can rebuild a droid that has been blown apart, or modify a spaceship so that it flies faster than it was originally designed. In the Mandalorian and Grogu movie, we are treated to a glimpse of their spaceship. It is scaled to their size, so it is in fact a very small ship (about the size of a very large bicycle box, for example). Michelle and I realized that I could make a ‘full size’ Anzellan ship for the Halloween house and it wouldn’t take up much of our front yard.

To build this ship, I started with, yes, a very large bike box. I get my bike boxes from bike stores where they are just going to be thrown away. Usually, if I ask for one, they are nice and give me as many as I would like. I think it saves them from having to break them down and take them to the recycling dumpster.

To get the rounded corners, I traced a large circle in the corners, cut the tops and then folded in and taped the cardboard around the curves.

For the back rockets, I used some large water containers which I had saved (yay, recycling!). I cut them to fit the back of the box and taped them in place with duct tape.

I then took several food containers which I had saved throughout the year and attached them to the top surface of the ship. I cut out a side area and created a lifting door and ramp and flanked this opening with halves of dollar store plastic plates. I cut square holes out of an old plastic pot that would serve as the ship’s cockpit.

I will give this a coat of paint and add the Anzellans. You can see this ship and the Anzellans on Halloween night!
