In April, Harry Potter World<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0opened at Universal Studios in Southern California. \u00a0That coincided with Grace’s school break, so we felt we had to go and visit\u2026for Halloween research purposes.<\/p>\n

\"2016<\/a>We donned costumes (Grace – Hermione, Michelle – Quidditch Fan, Eric – “traveling” Harry\/Epilogue Harry\/old Harry)<\/p>\n

\"2016<\/a>\u2026and entered into the immersive theme park.<\/p>\n

\"2016<\/a>We tried to do everything\u2014we rode the rides, shopped in shops, ate at the Three Broomsticks and\u00a0sampled butter beer.<\/p>\n

\"2016<\/a>In Olivander’s wand shop Grace chose a\u00a0wand (or rather the wand chose her).<\/p>\n

\"2016<\/a>We marveled at the attention to detail\u2014from the amazing portraits within Hogwarts\u2026<\/p>\n

\"2016<\/a>\u2026down to the simulated lichen around the castle entrance.<\/p>\n

\"2016<\/a>As we hoped to create an immersive Harry Potter experience for our guests at Halloween, we took lots of pictures of what we saw.<\/p>\n

\"2016<\/a>We also located some special treasures which we wanted to incorporate into the house theme.<\/p>\n

\"2016<\/a>You may notice that some of the things we saw made their way into the plan for the house.<\/p>\n
