The Armorer and her forge are pivotal parts of the Mandalorian story, so I wanted to have a spot in our Halloween house for them. In the end credits of one of the episodes, they showed some concept art for the arched entryway into the Nevarro Mandalorian forge area which I loved and hoped to re-create.

In the actual show, the shot was dark and went by quickly, but it showed the shape of the arch, and the Mythasaur skull that had been in the concept art.

I replicated the shape of the arch in Photoshop, and then projected the shape onto insulation foam so that I got all of the curves and sizing right. I traced the shapes and then later cut them out with my hot knife.

To make sure the arch lined up correctly to our porch area, I added back supports using more insulation foam.

For the inside of the Armorer’s area, I cut some large folding-table boxes (See the What a Piece of Junk: Building with Found Objects post) to fit the height of the porch.

Finally, I mounted the archway into place for a test fitting.

I also designed and cut out templates for the darker zig-zag pattern that I will paint onto the arch (as seen in the concept art photo above).

All that remains is to do some paint touch ups, add the Mythasaur skull, paint the darker zig-zag patterns, and add the forge.
